Almost Live
My little personal project is all done - just ironing out some DNS and Apache issues before it is live. Hopefully sometime today or tonight.
I think photographers and industry folk will find it a very useful little site.

Long Weekend
It's been fun having a long holiday weekend (despite some scary moments).
I always have ideas for projects spinning around in my head. Any time I get some free time, I start coding or fleshing out an idea.
This weekend I started coding a very small rails project I've had in mind. I think its going to be cool and I've set out to launch it by Monday, no matter what state its in.

R.I.P. Tefft Street
We retired some old templates today. Thanks Tefft, you've been great. Our lives are just headed in different directions. Let's still be friends.
Hot Frozen Yogurt
A great new yogurt shop opened up in town earlier this year. Yogurt Creations is a favorite of BIG Folio staff and they've put an interesting twist on selling frozen desserts. Instead of ordering a specific size, flavor and topping combination, you simply make your own. Grab a cup, walk up to the yogurt machines and pour, add some toppings, then pay by weight.
Not only is going there fun, but their business model is brilliant. They have less to stock (there are only 2 sizes of cups) and there is no menu to maintain. But most of all, they only require one or two employees on at any time. Staff is often the most expensive part of running a business, and what better way to reduce staff needs than having the customer do the work?
As you take time to evaluate and fine-tune your business for next year, don't just look for ways to increase revenue. Also look for ways to reduce your costs. Look for opportunities to let technology - or even other people - do work for you.

So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Home from Tybee Island, Georgia
I returned home late last night from Tybee Island, Georgia. We had some great meetings as well as a nice relaxing weekend.
Jim and Roxanne Stone of Shot by Roxy Wedding Photograhy were our gracious island hosts. They even let me tag along and shoot a beautiful wedding with them at the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannahh. I'll post pictures from the wedding soon.
Jim's nephew Mike was also visiting from Sacramento. Mike is a chef at restaurant 55° and Sunday we had a 5 course feast of amazing food.
I did eat plenty of local fare on Tybee as well. I had grits for breakfast twice and even gave the boiled peanuts a try. I must admit, its hard to find a good cup of coffee on Tybee.
Its good to be home to my family - and my Keurig.

Indian Summer
Here's the thing about living in the 805: we only have one season and our tolerance for extreme temperatures is very low. If the temperature dips below 55, we break out our parkas and electric blankets. If the mercury rises above 85, everyone goes to the beach or sits in a kiddy pool of cold water.
I heard no official report, but we had to be above 90 degrees today. The office was unbearable. My house was unbearable. I hope this indian summer doesn't last too long.
