Outta Here

Well, the wedding season is over (for me at least). We're heading off to Bakersfield today for a nice visit with my mom, some rest, and who knows what else.

I'm hoping to take some pics on the way, but we'll see how the natives feel.

So today, I am launching [ b ] (RED), my own personal crusade to try to raise money and raise awareness to help our brothers and sisters who are dying of AIDS in Africa.

Still Sick

Sore throat still hasn't gone away. Went to the Dr. today and he said I had a bad case of strep. Got some antibiotics and hopefully will be golden in a day or two.

I haven't been allowed in the BIG Folio office all week.

Going Down

I often brag to my wife about my superior immune system and the fact that I rarely get sick. Of course, when I do get sick, that makes me look like a fool.

This morning I woke up with a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in my neck.

I should be able to power through tomorrow's wedding with my standard prescription of tylenol and caffeine.

Eat Your Own Dogfood

If you're going to build a blog, it should really have an RSS feed.

Blogs are new and fresh. Table-based layouts are not.

If your blog doesn't filter comment spam, that's a problem.

If you're going to charge $100 for blog, it should really offer something new or improved over the free blog platforms that currently exist.

Finally, eat your own dogfood. If you sell a blog, why isn't your corporate blog using your own product? Is it good enough for your customers - but not for you?

Nikon's Smart Move

TechCrunch has a great article about a recent move by Nikon to promote their new D80 camera.

Nikon hand-picked a few photographers on Flickr and sent them free D80s. They then used the images for the D80's promotional site.

Pretty nice move. You can see the site here.

Yesterday was a nice day for a walk. Gas is under $3 here and Taylor loves Subway

Google Gadgets

Joining the widget craze, Google recently released their desktop gadgets for use on websites and blogs.

I thought I would try one out, so here goes ...
